Himig ng Anghel Elevated: Service Above Self

The Rotary Club of San Juan East marked a significant milestone on November 8, 2025, with the official launch of Himig ng Anghel: Elevated. This ambitious new chapter represents more than just a project expansion; it is a testament to the club’s unwavering commitment to inclusive growth and community empowerment in San Juan.

Originally launched in January 2018, the Himig ng Anghel project began with a singular, harmonious vision: to use music, arts, and dance as bridges for healing and inclusion for special education students. After a pause, the club has returned with a broader mandate, elevating the program to involve their partners in service.

The elevated phase shifts the focus toward a more comprehensive development model. By reaching to underserved individuals, the project seeks to provide a sanctuary where creativity and movement serve as catalysts for self-confidence. The impact is best seen through the eyes of the beneficiaries. Testimonials from the event highlighted profound transformations:

“Naging malaking tulong ang Himig ng Anghel, lalo na kapag kumakanta siya. Nalilibang, nababawasan ang tantrums, at mas nagiging masaya kahit may autism.”

“Malaking tulong ang mga activities – masaya siya tuwing uma-attend at ramadan niya ang pagmamahal ninyo. Dahil dito, nag-improve and motor skills, focus, at patience niya – mga bagay na mahirap sa may intellectual disability.”

True to the Rotary spirit of collaboration, this initiative is a collective effort. The launch showcased a powerful network of partners-in-service, including:

• RCC Women of Barangay San Juan in Service

• RCC Senior Batis Connects.

• Rotaract Club of San Juan East; and

• Interact Club of San Juan National High School (Dance Troupe).

As the project rises stronger, it continues to prove that when a community unites, it creates a space where everyone truly belongs. At its very heart, Himig ng Anghel: Elevated is about the simple but profound truth that every note, step, and movement makes a difference.

Today, we stand stronger than ever, ready to connect and create spaces where everyone belongs.
