The Rotary Club of San Fernando La Union (RCSFLU) devoted October 29 to a series of faith-driven and purpose-filled activities as part of its preparations for an upcoming medical mission in the City of San Fernando. The day embodied Rotary’s core values of service, fellowship, and collaboration with the broader community.
The morning began with a Mass and Breakfast Meeting with the Missionaries of Our Lady of Perpetual Help (MPS), together with the Lay Missionaries of MPS and volunteer doctors affiliated with the Philippine Heart Center, Lung Center of the Philippines, National Kidney and Transplant Institute (NKTI), and ManilaMed Hospital. The gathering provided an opportunity for spiritual reflection and mutual encouragement, as all participants united undera shared mission—to bring healing and hope to those in need.
After the Mass, RCSFLU members proceeded to an ocular inspection at the Poro Covered Court, the designated venue for the upcoming medical mission. Together with Barangay Poro Council officials, they discussed site layout, crowd management, and logistical preparations to ensure an orderly and well-coordinated event.
Later in the day, the Club paid a courtesy visit to the City Health Office (CHO) to finalize coordination and ensure compliance with city health protocols. The CHO extended its support and commended the Club’s proactive efforts in delivering accessible healthcare services to local residents.
RCSFLU Presidemt Alvin also visited San Fernando City Mayor Dong Gualberto to formally present the medical mission plans and seek the city’s support. The Mayor expressed full backing for the initiative, recognizing Rotary’s vital role in uplifting public health and community welfare.
