Every Bag of Blood Carries a Story of Hope
There are moments in life when a stranger becomes someone's answered prayer.
A mother waiting for surgery. A father fighting for another chance. A child hoping to recover. They may never know the names of the people who saved them but they will forever be grateful that someone chose to give.
That is the heart behind the Blood Donation Drive initiated by the Rotary Club of Metro San Fernando La Union, led by President Bong Lee, on July 28, 2026 at Ilocos Training and Regional Medical Center.
What made this project truly special was not only the blood collected, it was the overwhelming spirit of unity shown by every member of our club. Barely at the start of the Rotary year, each Rotarian reached out to friends, family, colleagues, and the community, encouraging them to become lifesavers. It was a beautiful reminder that when people are united by compassion, even one invitation can become another person's second chance at life.
This meaningful project was made possible through teamwork and collaboration. We extend our sincere appreciation to Past President Maribel Morales, whose invaluable assistance in coordinating with the Ilocos Training and Regional Medical Center helped make this blood donation drive a reality. Her dedication behind the scenes reflects the true Rotary spirit of service above self.
Together, we collected 23 bags of blood, enough to help save up to 69 lives.
Behind every bag is a story. Behind every donor is a heart willing to give without expecting anything in return. And behind every life saved is a community that chose kindness over indifference.
Our heartfelt gratitude goes to our ever-reliable partner in service, Ilocos Training and Regional Medical Center (ITRMC), for their unwavering support and dedication. Your partnership continues to transform compassion into hope and service into lives saved.
Twenty-three bags. Sixty-nine lives. Countless stories of hope.
Because sometimes, the greatest gift we can give is not something we own, it is the chance for someone else to keep living.
