Environmental Advocate Receives International Recognition at Asian Cultural Festival in Taipei

On June 14, 2026 in Taipei, Taiwan, Environmental advocate and Rotarian Sheryll Ann Mesina received a prestigious Environmental Award during the Asian Cultural Festival held in Taipei, Taiwan, in recognition of her outstanding contributions to environmental sustainability and community service.


The award was presented by Past Rotary International President Gordon McInally, Past District Governor Mildred Vitangcol, Club President Rhodora Gonzales, and Past District Governor Gina Sy, who acknowledged Mesina’s dedication, leadership, and impactful environmental initiatives.



The recognition was conferred in the presence of Rotary International President Francesco Arezzo, Rotary International Directors, and Rotary International President-Elect Olayinka Hakeem Babalola, who attended the event as Guest of Honor.


Mesina has been actively involved in environmental advocacy, promoting sustainable practices and developing innovative programs that encourage environmental responsibility and community participation. Her efforts have contributed to raising awareness on environmental stewardship while inspiring individuals and organizations to take meaningful action toward a greener future.


In her remarks, Mesina expressed gratitude for the recognition and emphasized that the award serves as an inspiration to continue advancing environmental initiatives that create lasting and measurable impact in communities.

“This recognition is a reminder that dedication, perseverance, and a genuine commitment to service can help drive positive change. I remain committed to advancing environmental sustainability and supporting projects that benefit both present and future generations,” she said.

The award highlights the growing importance of environmental action within Rotary and recognizes individuals whose work exemplifies Rotary’s commitment to creating lasting change through service and responsible stewardship of the environment.
