On January 11, 2026, two dedicated organizations—the Rotary Club Cebu South led by Pres. Rheneir Mora and the Rotary Club of Metro Cebu led by Pres. Evelyn Trani—joined forces to bring meaningful change to the community of Brgy. Carreta, Cebu City. Their mission went beyond a simple outreach; it was an integrated effort to promote safety, awareness, and well‑being among residents.
At the heart of the initiative was a powerful advocacy: raising awareness on Violence Against Women and Children (VAWC). Through open discussions and educational sessions, community members gained a deeper understanding of their rights, available support systems, and the importance of speaking up. The organizers emphasized that protecting women and children is a shared responsibility—one that begins with knowledge and compassion.
Complementing this cause was another essential focus: proper waste disposal. Recognizing the growing environmental challenges faced by urban communities, the Rotary teams introduced practical ways to reduce waste, maintain cleaner surroundings, and foster sustainable habits. Educating households on environmental health became an important step in strengthening the community’s overall resilience.
To further uplift the residents, the volunteers distributed sanitary kits, vitamins, and minerals, ensuring that families had access to basic necessities that support daily wellness. These small yet impactful items served as reminders that good health is a foundation for empowerment and growth.
The day concluded with renewed energy, gratitude, and unity. More than just an outreach activity, this collaboration exemplified what service looks like when organizations work hand in hand—transformative, inclusive, and deeply rooted in community care.
