In a powerful display of environmental stewardship and community partnership, the Rotary Club of Mandaluyong West joined forces with 15 other organizations for a massive Coastal Clean-Up Activity on April 20, 2026.
The event, held at the Las Piñas-Parañaque Wetland Park, was organized in celebration of Environment Month—a global initiative dedicated to climate action and sustainability. Our club participated following an invitation from our corporate partner, FLS Group, underscoring the vital role that collaboration between the private sector and community service organizations plays in addressing environmental challenges.
The collective efforts of the volunteers yielded significant results in preserving our local ecosystem:
400 kg of mixed waste collected.
75 volunteers dedicated their time and energy to the cause
71 sacks of debris removed from the coastline.
16 organizations working in synergy.
The Las Piñas-Parañaque Wetland Park is a critical sanctuary for biodiversity within Metro Manila. By removing nearly half a ton of waste, our unified group helped protect the migratory bird species and mangrove forests that depend on this habitat.
This activity perfectly captures the spirit of "keeping the world moving sustainably with kindness". It is a reminder that when we unite for a common cause, the impact on our planet is both immediate and measurable.
The Rotary Club of Mandaluyong West remains steadfast in its commitment to sustainability, ensuring a greener, cleaner future for the generations to follow.
