Isabela, Philippines — Ongoing discussions are underway to establish a dairy-based food security program at Camp Melchor F. Dela Cruz, home of the 5th Infantry Division under the leadership of MGen. Gulliver Gambit Seneres.
The initiative, spearheaded by Climate Change Commissioner Albert P. Dela Cruz Sr. and United Chosen President Sheryll Ann Mesina, brings together top Bulgarian geneticists and agricultural specialists to provide high-quality dairy cows and technical expertise for sustainable milk production.
The program aims to produce probiotic-rich dairy products to supply the nutritional needs of soldiers, pregnant women, lactating mothers, and children. In addition, the establishment of self-sustaining dairy farms within military camps is expected to strengthen both food security and livelihood opportunities for military families and surrounding communities.
This collaboration underscores the importance of international expertise and local partnerships in advancing sustainable agriculture and nutrition security for the Philippine Armed Forces and their dependents.
