Boosting support for disabled

The Rotary Club of Marikina Valley (RCMV) proudly joined the National Disability Rights Week Celebration 2026 on July 22, 2026, at the Municipal Gymnasium, Barangay Balite, Rodriguez, Rizal.

Led by the Municipal Health Office, and in collaboration with the PWD Affairs Office and partner organizations, the celebration brought together young Persons with Disabilities (PWDs), their families, community leaders, volunteers, and stakeholders to promote inclusion, mental health, leadership, dignity, and equal opportunity.

RCMV actively supported the program through a Mental Health Awareness Session, which promoted emotional well-being, resilience, and the importance of seeking support. The Youth PWD Leadership Training also helped develop self-confidence, communication, teamwork, problem-solving, and community participation, inspiring young PWDs to see themselves as future leaders, advocates, and change-makers.

RCMV and its partners provided prosthetic legs, hearing aids, and hygiene kits to qualified beneficiaries. These interventions helped improve mobility, communication, independence, and overall well-being, demonstrating that true service means responding to real needs and creating opportunities.

The celebration was made possible through a  strong partnership with the Local Government Unit, Municipal Health Office, PWD Affairs Office, Rotary Club of Marikina Valley, partner organizations, donors, volunteers, and community stakeholders. Together, they addressed important aspects of disability inclusion, from mental health and leadership to mobility, communication, and dignity.

For RCMV, Empower Ability 2026 was a meaningful expression of Service Above Self. heard, valued, and empowered.

Through this partnership, RCMV enhances awareness that disability is not a barrier to leadership, purpose, or meaningful participation. When communities unite, barriers become opportunities and challenges become pathways to empowerment.
