Our Club’s project for Persons with Disabilities (PWDs), “BEYOND LIMITS: Paralympics Wellness Support,” was successfully held on July 30, 2025. The activity featured a Paralympics and Mental Health Awareness Program, a Medical Mission, and the distribution of assistive mobility devices. It aimed to promote inclusivity, well-being, and better access to healthcare services for Persons with Disabilities (PWDs) and their caregivers. A total of 270 participants, composed of PWD members and their carers from various barangays, attended the event.
In coordination with the Municipal Health Office of Rodriguez, free medical consultations and medicines were provided to 180 beneficiaries. Mental Health Awareness sessions also highlighted the importance of emotional wellness, resilience, and community support.
The Department of Health Region IV-A and the Rotary Club of Marikina Valley distributed hygiene kits, snacks, and assistive mobility devices to the beneficiaries.
Inclusive sports activities such as a walkathon race, chess, and table tennis were likewise conducted during the Paralympics, encouraging active participation, teamwork and camaraderie among the PWD participants.
Additional services, including free massage and haircut, were provided by the Municipal Livelihood Department. The event was further enlivened by inspiring performances from the children of Cottolengo Filipino, Inc. and other participating organizations.
Through this meaningful initiative, collaboration among the LGU’s health and disability service sectors was strengthened, while awareness among PWDs and their families on the importance of both mental and physical well-being was significantly enhanced.
