The Rotary Club of Greater Pililla successfully conducted the turnover of its District Grant WASH Project: “Ang Tubig ay Buhay” Purified Water System, done in partnership with Hulo Elementary School in Pililla, Rizal.
The primary objective of the installation of a Water Filtration System at Hulo Elementary School is to ensure continuous access to safe, clean, and potable drinking water for students, teachers, and staff. The project aims to improve health and hygiene, reduce the risk of water-borne diseases, and create a more supportive learning environment. It also seeks to promote sustainability by empowering the school and community with the skills needed to properly operate, maintain, and manage the water filtration system for long-term use.
“Isa rin sa aming layunin ay ang sustainability ng proyektong ito. Sana po ay mapangalagaan at mapanatili ang paggamit ng water filtration system na ito upang patuloy itong mapakinabangan hindi lamang ng mga kasalukuyang mga estudyante kundi pati ang mga susunod pang henerasyon" , said Good President Cherry Vidanes.
The club also donated twenty (20) water containers for each room and Proper Hand Wash signs sponsored by generous club members and by the Rotaract Club of Greater Pililla. The project includes the supply and installation of all electrical components, water test, training of basic operation of the water filtration system, proper cleaning and replacement of filters, and signages for water hygiene and sanitation practices, responsible water use, and conservation.
