On February 14, 2026—a day traditionally dedicated to love—the Rotary Club of Pasig Premier demonstrated a profound love for community and global unity. Under the visionary leadership of Good President Shiela Pielago, the club traveled to the picturesque shores of Maniwaya Island, Marinduque, for a landmark service project: the dual installation of a Peace Pole and an official Rotary Marker.
Symbols of Global Unity and Service
The installation of these two monuments marks a significant milestone for both the club and the island community:
• The Peace Pole: Standing as a silent sentinel of hope, the pole bears the universal prayer, "May Peace Prevail on Earth." It serves as a visual reminder to locals and tourists alike that Maniwaya is a sanctuary for harmony and reflection.
• The Rotary Marker: This official marker identifies the island as a site of Rotary care and commitment. It symbolizes the enduring bond between RC Pasig Premier and the people of Marinduque, marking a location where "Service Above Self" is put into tangible action.
Fellowship in Service
The mission was carried out by a dedicated delegation from the club, whose presence underscored the spirit of Rotary fellowship. The attendees included GP Shiela Pielago
Sps. Director/Auditor Jun and Lorena Real, Rtn. Irene R. Guiquing, and Rtn. Marlon Parane.
A Warm Island Welcome
The local residents and officials of Maniwaya greeted the team with overwhelming gratitude. The project was received not just as a gift of infrastructure, but as a promise of continued partnership.
By placing these markers in the "Heart of the Philippines," RC Pasig Premier has ensured that the message of peace will resonate with every traveler who steps onto the island’s white sands.
Through this initiative, the Rotary Club of Pasig Premier continues to lead the way in peacebuilding, proving that wherever there is a need for harmony, Rotary is there to plant the seeds.
