A Legacy Forged in Service: Rotary Club of San Fernando, La Union Caps an Extraordinary Year of Leadership and Excellence

The Rotary Club of San Fernando (La Union) (RCSFLU) concluded Rotary Year 2025–2026 on a triumphant note after earning an impressive collection of district awards during the Year-End Review 2026 held on June 28, 2026, at Royce Hotel, Clark, Pampanga. Capped by its recognition as one of the Top 4 Most Outstanding Clubs in the Large Club Category, the club's achievements reflected a Rotary year marked by impactful service, exemplary leadership, and steadfast commitment to the ideals of Unite for Good.

Leading the club's distinctions were the prestigious Club Excellence Award, Top Unity Club in Service Projects, Top Club in Club Administration, and Top Club in Public Image, affirming RCSFLU's balanced excellence across Rotary's core avenues of service.

Complementing these honors were recognitions as an Every Club, 100% Polio Giving Club, and 100% Log in My Rotary Club, underscoring the club's unwavering support for The Rotary Foundation and Rotary International initiatives.

The club likewise garnered the Unite for Good Governor's Award for its outstanding implementation of projects under Rotary's Areas of Focus, earning commendations in Peacebuilding and Conflict Prevention, Disease Prevention and Treatment, Water, Sanitation and Hygiene, Maternal and Child Care, Basic Education and Literacy, Community Economic Development, and the Environment.

Its flagship initiatives also earned special recognition, including the Rapid Relief Citation Award for the Unite for Hope "Water for Life Project" and the Most Commendable Project Award for Growing Hope from the Ground Up – Hydroponics Farm in RCC Abut, demonstrating RCSFLU's commitment to sustainable and community-driven solutions.

Individual excellence further shone during the ceremonies. President Alvin Ray Mari Dumuk was honored as Most Outstanding President and recipient of the Leadership Award, while Secretary Lexus Jed Castañeda received the Most Outstanding Club Secretary Award. The club also celebrated DGE Ronald Dy, who received the Council of Governors Award, District Public Image Coordinator, and was named as one of the Outstanding Rotarian Award. Meanwhile, President Nominee Marlon Niduaza was awarded as one of the recipients of the Vocational Excellence Award and Hydroponics Special Project Deputy Chair.

The club took a moment to celebrate the extraordinary dedication of Rotarians who have contributed decades of service, presenting the Golden Wheel Award to members with 30 to 64 years of dedicated service.

The club likewise celebrated the achievements of its partner organizations, with RCC Barangay Abut, RCC Barangay Namtutan, and the Rotaract Club of La Union receiving Outstanding Rotary Community Corps and Outstanding Rotaract Club, respectively, while the club's official publication, The Gold Leaf, was named Outstanding Club Bulletin.

RCSFLU's impact extended beyond service projects into Rotary Foundation giving, securing Top 4 District rankings in PolioPlus, Annual Fund, and Overall Rotary Foundation Giving. These accomplishments demonstrated the club's dedication not only to local community development but also to advancing Rotary's humanitarian efforts around the world.
