A Gift from the Heart: Blood That Bonds Us All

In a world that often moves too fast, there are moments that slow us down — moments where kindness flows freely, and service takes on a deeper meaning. One such moment came to life as Rotary International District 3860, in partnership with Viscom, Camp Lapu-Lapu, held its annual bloodletting activity — a life-saving mission that pulses with compassion, unity, and the timeless Rotary principle of Service Above Self.

The Rotary Club of Cebu Fuente, under the passionate leadership of President Jason Ong, was honored to take part in this meaningful district-wide initiative. Standing shoulder to shoulder were Past Presidents Bernard IV Amago and Maricel Borromeo Amores, alongside officers Regie P. Gratones and Erl Amores, proudly representing the RCCF spirit in full.

But beyond titles and positions, it was the beating hearts behind the effort that made the day truly extraordinary.

We pay tribute to those who quite literally gave of themselves — through their blood — to bring hope and healing to others. Among them were our ever-committed Past President Jomar Ponce, and the brave young hearts of our Rotaractors JN Vianney, Shevee Vallecer Resolado, and Annzinne Genesa. A special mention also goes to the employees of Styropack, a company led by Pres. Jason Ong, whose generosity embodied what it means to serve without fanfare.

Each donor, each volunteer, each smile shared — they remind us that service doesn’t always come in grand gestures. Sometimes, it simply begins with a rolled-up sleeve, a willing heart, and the desire to save a life.

From all of us in RCCF — thank you.

You didn’t just donate blood. You gave someone another chance at life. And that is the kind of magic only Rotary can inspire.
