In the aftermath of Typhoon Tino, as communities across Cebu faced the daunting task of recovery, one truth became clear: hope is strongest when people come together in service. On November 13, 2025, that hope took tangible form in Barangay Nangka, Balamban, Cebu, where more than 400 families received much‑needed assistance through a collaborative relief mission led by the Philippine College of Physicians (PCP), with the steadfast support of the Rotary Club of Cebu South (RCCS).
The relief mission was more than a distribution of aid—it was a powerful expression of compassion, solidarity, and shared responsibility. In partnership with PCP, RCCS played a vital role in ensuring the success of the initiative, demonstrating Rotary’s unwavering commitment to responding swiftly and meaningfully in times of crisis.
For the families of Barangay Nangka, the mission brought reassurance during a period marked by uncertainty. For the volunteers and partners involved, it reaffirmed a core Rotary belief: that service, when guided by empathy and collaboration, can restore dignity and inspire resilience even in the most challenging circumstances.
RCCS proudly congratulates the Philippine College of Physicians for its leadership in bringing this humanitarian effort to life. The collaboration stands as a shining example of how professional organizations and service institutions can unite their strengths to uplift communities in need.
As Cebu continues its journey toward recovery, this relief mission serves as a reminder that Rotary’s impact extends far beyond projects—it lives in partnerships forged, lives touched, and hope renewed. True to the ideal of Service Above Self, the Rotary Club of Cebu South remains committed to standing with communities, not only in times of celebration, but most especially in moments that call for compassion, action, and unity.
