Wheels of Hope: RC San Fernando La Union Continues to Restore Mobility

The Rotary Club of San Fernando, La Union (RCSFLU) continues to roll forward with compassion through Wheels of Hope on January 30, 2026. The Wheels of Hope project once again demonstrated Rotary’s compassion and commitment to service through a wheelchair donation activity held at Brgy. Dalumpinas Oeste, San Fernando City, La Union. The initiative brought renewed hope and mobility to a senior beneficiary while highlighting Rotary’s sustained efforts to support persons with mobility challenges across the city and the province.

The recipient of the activity was Ms. Amelia Cadiente, a 95-year-old resident who has been suffering from the effects of a stroke. Due to her condition, mobility has become a significant daily challenge, making the provision of a wheelchair a crucial intervention for her comfort, safety, and dignity.

The wheelchair was formally turned over by members of the Rotary Club of San Fernando La Union (RCSFLU), in partnership with National Bazaar, whose continued support made the donation possible. A special recognition was extended to the partner organization in appreciation of its contribution to the success of the project.

Family members of Ms. Cadiente expressed their heartfelt gratitude, sharing how the wheelchair will greatly ease her daily movement and improve her quality of life. The moment underscored the profound impact that even a single act of service can have on individuals and families in need.

The Wheels of Hope initiative is part of a series of wheelchair donation activities undertaken by RCSFLU throughout San Fernando City and the Province of La Union.

Through this continuing program, the club remains steadfast in its mission to restore mobility, promote inclusivity, and extend compassionate service to the most vulnerable members of the community—truly embodying Rotary’s ideal of Service Above Self.
