A significant milestone in Rotary–media collaboration was achieved on December 10, 2025, when the Rotary Club of San Mateo Highlands (RCSMH) formally sealed its partnership with Manila Broadcasting Company (MBC) and DZRH Operation Tulong through the signing of a Memorandum of Agreement (MOA) at the MBC Building, CCP Complex, Pasay City. More than a ceremonial act, the signing affirmed a relationship long rooted in compassion, trust, and a shared commitment to community upliftment.
The occasion was led by Atty. Rudolf Steve Jularbal, Vice President and DZRH Station Manager, together with RCSMH Good President Lerma Membrado and Immediate Past
President Mark Jay Dagat. Also present were DZRH Operation Tulong Manager Mae Binauhan, District 3800 Public Image Chair Rey Pineda, and members of the DZRH
Operation Tulong team—partners who have consistently supported Rotary initiatives through the reach and influence of broadcast media.
In his message, Atty. Jularbal proudly affirmed MBC and DZRH Operation Tulong’s acceptance of the partnership, emphasizing that their corporate social responsibility
programs are naturally aligned with Rotary’s vision and its Seven Areas of Focus. He noted that DZRH Operation Tulong’s enduring advocacy—serving the vulnerable, responding to urgent needs, and empowering communities—mirrors Rotary’s commitment to peacebuilding, disease prevention, water and sanitation, maternal and child health, education, economic development, and environmental protection. When the media is guided by purpose, he said, it becomes a powerful multiplier of service.
Further underscoring the significance of the MOA, District 3800 Public Image Chair Rey Pineda outlined its strategic thrusts: membership development, high-impact and sustainable projects, and strengthened public image initiatives. He emphasized that the collaboration provides a vital platform for telling meaningful service stories, inspiring volunteerism, and extending Rotary’s reach to broader audiences.
The MOA formalizes a partnership built over years of collaboration between RCSMH and DZRH Operation Tulong across Rizal and Metro Manila. Long before the agreement, both organizations had worked hand in hand on humanitarian efforts—relief operations, health initiatives, and community outreach—many of which were featured on DZRH Operation Tulong broadcasts. These shared endeavors laid a solid foundation of mutual trust and common purpose.
A recent highlight of this collaboration took place on December 13, when RCSMH, together with the Rotary Clubs of San Mateo and San Mateo Midtown, actively participated in “Alagang Unilab with DZRH Goes to San Mateo.”
The outreach delivered a comprehensive medical mission, offering medical consultations, free reading glasses, fluoride application, and haircut services, alongside a Christmas gift-giving for children, adults, and senior citizens. Grocery bags, hygiene kits, toys, and sweet treats were distributed—bringing care, dignity, and the spirit of the season to the community.
A cornerstone of this enduring relationship has been the regular guestings of Good President Lerma Membrado on the DZRH Operation Tulong Public Service Hour, hosted by
Mae Binauhan. Through these engagements, RCSMH has consistently promoted its advocacies while also supporting fellow Zone 4 clubs—Marikina West, Marikina North,
Marikina Valley, San Mateo, and San Mateo Midtown—by providing them a platform to share their projects and activities, strengthening inter-club collaboration and Rotary unity. District-wide initiatives have likewise benefited from the partnership. District-led programs, including tree-planting activities, were covered and featured on DZRH Operation Tulong, amplifying Rotary’s environmental advocacy. Through the same platform, D3800 Gov. Gina Sanchez also promoted the End Polio Now Concert on air, reinforcing Rotary’s global commitment to polio eradication and inviting wider public participation.
Adding depth to this partnership is the mutual recognition and appreciation shared by both organizations. In acknowledgment of their invaluable support in community outreach and humanitarian service, plaques of recognition were exchanged—a meaningful gesture reflecting respect and gratitude. Notably, DZRH Operation Tulong conferred a Plaque of Recognition to the Rotary Club of San Mateo Highlands during the club’s 47th Anniversary celebration on December 7, 2025, symbolizing years of collaboration and shared service. Following the MOA signing, discussions on shared goals and future initiatives continued on the DZRH Operation Tulong Public Service Hour, broadcast via MBC’s Teleradyo stations, nationwide radio, cable television, and livestreams on Facebook and YouTube—bringing the partnership’s vision to a wider audience.
This strengthened partnership between DZRH Operation Tulong and the Rotary Club of San Mateo Highlands stands as a testament to what can be achieved when media and service organizations unite with purpose. Together, they continue to amplify service beyond the airwaves—touching lives, strengthening communities, and advancing Rotary’s enduring ideal of Service Above Self.
