Unveiling of Rotary Peace Poles with R.I. Director Jennifer Scott

The day on 16 September 2025 began at 9:00 AM when we fetched Rotary International Director (RID) Jennifer Scott, together with District Governor (DG) Gina Sanchez, Endowment Major Gifts Adviser (EMGA) PDG Penny Policarpio of District 3780 and his spouse ARMC/PP Joan, along with District Peace and Conflict Resolution Chair Michael Raymundo at Solaire North Hotel.

From there, we proceeded to Kapit Bahayan Elementary School, where the Rotary Club of Northbay East, led by Good President Aileen de Guzman and the dedicated members of the club, proudly unveiled their Rotary Peace Pole. The ceremony was graced by Navotas City Mayor John Rey Tiangco who delivered an inspiring message. RID Jennifer Scott and DGr Gina Sanchez also shared heartfelt words on peace and Rotary’s mission. We were also joined by District 3800 Peace and Conflict Resolution Co-Chair Vince Bartolome, DDS Brill Chua, SAG Angie Sioco, CP Jess Tan, and other members of RC Northbay East.

Our next stop was the Rotary Club of Navotas Clubhouse, where the club maintains a park and had installed another Rotary Peace Pole. A short but meaningful program followed. Good President Cherry Pilos shared his message on the importance of peace, PDG Edison Ang recounted the proud history of the club, and once again RID Jennifer Scott and DG Gina Sanchez inspired the Rotarians present. The event was well attended by the esteemed members of RC Navotas, making it a truly memorable and heartfelt gathering.

We then moved on to the Rotary Club of Malabon Clubhouse, where Director Jennifer inspected the ongoing production of Rotary Peace Poles. We were warmly welcomed by the members of RC Malabon, led by Good President Samson Go and PDG Jaime Dee. A sumptuous meal followed at a Chinese restaurant in Banawe, Quezon City, where we were joined by PDG Jaime Dee, EMGA/PDG Penny Policarpio, DGN SherrylLou Khosiking, and PP Michael Raymundo.

The final stop was at Vertis North Mall, where we dropped off RID Jennifer and PDG Penny as she needed to purchase an extra suitcase to carry the many thoughtful tokens she received from Rotarians during her stay in the Philippines.

Though our time with RID Jennifer lasted only about six hours, and despite the rain, it was nevertheless filled with learning, inspiration, and heartfelt fellowship. She graciously shared her wisdom, experiences, and inspiring Rotary journey, leaving us all deeply motivated.

It was truly an honor to spend the day with such a remarkable and inspiring leader. On behalf of Rotary International District 3800, we extend our heartfelt gratitude to R.I. Director Jennifer Scott of Blue Mountains, Australia, for her visit. We look forward to seeing you again soon!
