SWING FOR A CAUSE 2026 of RC Marikina West and SNS '76 Alumni Association

Two organizations. Distinct advocacies. One shared mission — to serve our Filipino brethren.

Before dawn had even broken, the registration team was already hard at work by 4:00 a.m. on January 30, 2026, at Valley Golf & Country Club (North Course), warmly welcoming golfers who arrived eager to take part in the tournament. Upon registration, participants received their giveaway kits — a face towel, essential oils, a foldable fan, and bottled water — tokens of appreciation prepared for the day ahead.

From there, players proceeded to the main dining hall, where a hearty breakfast of chicken congee with egg was served to energize them for the challenges on the fairway.

A heartfelt thank you to all 91 golfers who supported this meaningful fundraiser.

Ceremonial Tee-Off

The tournament officially opened with distinguished leaders taking the ceremonial first swing:

Justice (Ret.) Mario Lopez

Past District Governor Jun Farcon

Immediate Past District Governor Bobby Zamora

District Governor Elect Celso Montalla

Assistant Governor Renny Domingo

Adding to the day’s excitement, one lucky golfer scored a spectacular hole-in-one at Hole #3 — an achievement that was celebrated and shared widely the very same day.

A unique brand of fellowship by The Golden Westerners

After an exhilarating day on the course, golfers gathered at the North Clubhouse for a generous spread of food and refreshments catered by Mandarin Sky — a well-deserved opportunity to rest, recharge, and celebrate.

Keeping the program lively and engaging were Masters of Ceremonies Past President Levi Ugsad and Past President Vincent Bartolome, whose energy added warmth and excitement to the fellowship.

The celebration continued with raffle draws featuring an impressive lineup of minor and major prizes — from home appliances and kitchen essentials to premium gadgets and audio equipment. Lucky winners went home not only with trophies and bragging rights, but also with exciting rewards.

The Rotary Club of Marikina West, under the leadership of President Kevin Delfino, in partnership with the Samar National School Class of 1976 Alumni Association led by Event Chair Jun Bohol II — President of the SNS Seventy-Sixers and Past President of Marikina West Rotary — extends its sincerest appreciation to its generous sponsors, enthusiastic golfers, and dedicated organizing committee.

Proceeds would go to RC Marikina West’s proposed global grant project (GG2685812) for a solar-powered irrigation system for farmers of Pila, Province of Laguna, as well as to various projects at Samar National School.

Because of the unwavering support from sponsors and players, “Swing for a Cause” 2026 became more than just a golf tournament. It became a powerful expression of unity, generosity, and service with purpose.
