As part of its commitment to community service and public welfare, the Rotary Club of Western Pampanga launched the “Damayang Ka-Barangay Construction and Renovation of a Barangay Funeral Home” project on September 19, 2025, in Barangay San Isidro, Guagua, Pampanga. Implemented in partnership with the Barangay Government of San Isidro, the initiative was attended by club members led by President Joselito Lim together with past presidents, officers, and Rotarians. The project was designed to provide the community with a safe, accessible, and functional funeral home that can serve residents during times of bereavement.
The newly constructed and renovated facility will benefit approximately 372 households in Barangay San Isidro. Beyond providing a dedicated venue for wakes and memorial services, the project addresses practical concerns within the community by reducing the need to hold wakes inside private homes, particularly those located along barangay roads where gatherings may cause traffic congestion and inconvenience to the public. By offering a centralized and appropriate space for funeral services, the facility helps promote order, convenience, and dignity for grieving families.
More importantly, the barangay funeral home serves as a lasting symbol of preparedness, unity, and resilience within the community. The facility is made available without cost to bereaved families, helping ease the financial burden associated with funeral arrangements. Through this meaningful project, the Rotary Club of Western Pampanga continues to demonstrate Rotary’s dedication to improving lives and strengthening communities through sustainable and impactful service initiatives.
