The Rotary Club of Cebu Port Centre (RCCPC) under the leadership of President Francis Walter Ong in partnership with Worldwide Steel Group, Inc., successfully conducted the turnover of a 12-faucet handwashing station, two school signages, and five recycling bins at Cambinocot Elementary School on Monday, October 13, 2025.
Reaching the school was no easy journey — members of RCCPC traveled for more than an hour through narrow, winding mountain roads, with stretches of both paved and dirt paths. Yet, the challenging trip proved worthwhile as Rotarians were warmly welcomed by the PTA President, school officials, and teachers, whose smiles reflected their gratitude and excitement.
This meaningful project addresses three of Rotary International’s Areas of Focus:
Water, Sanitation, and Hygiene (WASH) – through the installation of a 12-faucet handwashing station that promotes proper hygiene practices among students.
Protecting the Environment – by providing recycling bins that encourage waste segregation and environmental responsibility within the school community.
Disease Prevention and Treatment – by reinforcing healthy habits and preventive care to safeguard the wellbeing of students and teachers.
Through this initiative, RCCPC once again demonstrated what it means to be People of Action, living out the Rotary motto of Service Above Self. This project not only provides facilities but also nurtures a culture of cleanliness, health, and environmental stewardship among the youth — a lasting investment in the community’s future.
