RCC Abut Hydroponics Farm Reaches 4th Harvest, Continues Sustainable Agriculture Efforts

The RCC Abut Hydroponics Farm achieved another significant milestone with the successful completion of its fourth harvest on May 15, reinforcing the growing impact of sustainable agriculture initiatives supported by the Rotary Club of San Fernando La Union and its community partners. The project continues to demonstrate how innovation and community collaboration can contribute to food sustainability and livelihood development.

Fresh produce harvested from the hydroponics farm were supplied to MASA and CURO in San Juan, highlighting the project’s expanding role in supporting local food networks and promoting healthier food options within the community. The harvest reflected the dedication and consistent efforts of volunteers and members involved in maintaining the farm’s operations.

The hydroponics initiative has become more than just an agricultural project; it has evolved into a learning platform that promotes practical farming skills, environmental awareness, and sustainable food production methods. Community members involved in the project continue to gain valuable knowledge on hydroponics technology and modern farming practices, empowering them with skills that can support livelihood opportunities in the future.

Following the successful harvest, members and volunteers of RCC Abut conducted a seedling transfer and transplanting activity on May 17 in preparation for the next production cycle.
