RC San Fernando La Union participates in the 17th Regional Development Council- Private Sectors Representative National Convention in Davao City

DAVAO CITY – Strengthening the bond between civic leadership and regional governance, the Rotary Club of San Fernando La Union (RCSFLU) took center stage at the 17th Regional Development Council-Private Sector Representatives (RDC-PSR) National Convention, held from March 11 to 13, 2026.

Representing the province of La Union was President Alvin Ray Mari Dumuk, who serves a dual role as the RCSFLU leader and the officially designated Private Sector Representative (PSR) for the region.

The three-day convention served as a strategic platform for private sector leaders across the Philippines to align their local initiatives with national development goals. This year’s gathering emphasized the critical role of private partners in:

  1. Policy Formulation: Ensuring that the voice of the business and civic sectors is heard in regional planning.

  2. Sustainable Innovation: Sharing best practices for economic growth that doesn't compromise environmental integrity.

  3. Public-Private Partnerships: Streamlining cooperation between government agencies and non-governmental organizations to fast-track infrastructure and social services.

As a representative of the private sector, President Dumuk’s participation underscores the Rotary Club’s commitment to going beyond community service and entering the space of macro-level regional advocacy. His presence in Davao City ensured that the specific economic and social interests of La Union were represented in the national dialogue.

"The synergy between the private sector and the government is the engine of regional progress," the convention's theme highlighted, a sentiment echoed by the delegates as they drafted resolutions aimed at inclusive growth for 2026 and beyond.
