The Rotary Club of San Fernando La Union (RCSFLU), in partnership with the City of San Fernando Police Station and National Bazaar, extended compassion and support to persons with disabilities (PWDs) through a wheelchair donation activity on August 30, 2025.
Three residents benefited from the initiative: a bedridden patient in Barangay locanos Sur, a patient with mobility impairment and vision problems in Barangay Pacpaco, and another Pacpaco resident suffering from deformed lower extremities. Members of RCSFLU and the City PNP personally visited the homes of the beneficiaries to deliver the wheelchairs and provide encouragement to their families.
The simple turnover brought not only mobility but also renewed dignity and hope to the recipients. Families expressed heartfelt gratitude, emphasizing how the wheelchairs would ease daily struggles and improve the quality of life of their loved ones.
This service activity highlighted the spirit of volunteerism and compassion at the heart of Rotary. By addressing the needs of the most vulnerable, RCSFLU continues to uplift lives and embody its guiding principle of Service Above Self.
