RC Marbel Launches “Project Agos – Water for All,” Providing Free Water Installation to 54 Households and Nearly 250 Residents in Brgy. Assumption

Imagine walking nearly an hour - three times a day,  just to fetch water.

For decades, this was everyday life for families in Sitio Datal Fitak, Brgy. Assumption, Koronadal City. Parents and children carried heavy containers through dirt paths. Some kids woke up before sunrise just to bathe before school. Mothers walked long distances to handwash clothes by the river, every single day Water wasn’t a convenience, it was a daily burden. But on March 5, 2025, that reality changed.

Project Agos - #WaterForAll

What started as an idea in 2024 turned into a life-changing water access initiative led by the Rotary Club of Marbel, supported by a District Grant from Rotary International District 3860 and The Rotary Foundation (DG2573980).

In partnership with the City of Koronadal Water District (CKWD), we brought clean, accessible water directly to 54 homes, impacting nearly 250 residents in one of Koronadal’s most underserved areas. Today, children wake up later, mothers wash clothes at home, and families no longer walk miles just to survive. They now have time, and peace, to focus on what matters most.

More Than a Water Project

Project Agos is about more than just water.

It’s about restoring dignity, health, and opportunity to communities long denied access to basic needs. And this is just the start. Access to clean water creates ripples that reach every corner of life: from better hygiene and sanitation to more time for school, work, and family. Project Agos proves that with the right partnerships and purpose, sustainable change is not only possible, it’s happening.

Keep the Ripple Going

We’re not done. This success fuels our next steps, to bring similar change to more communities in need. Help us ripple this change forward. Share this story. Support the cause. Be part of the movement.
