RC Makati North Brings Hope Through "Aytas Balik Eskwela Program" Despite Stormy Weather
Not even the rain and strong winds could stop us from fulfilling our mission!
Demonstrating the true spirit of Service Above Self, the Rotary Club of Makati North successfully conducted its "Aytas Balik Eskwela Program" in Botolan, Zambales on July 11, 2026, proving that compassion and commitment know no boundaries—not even the harshest weather.
Despite the relentless rain and strong winds brought about by the inclement weather, our dedicated team pressed on to ensure that 438 Aytas student beneficiaries received their much-needed school supplies and nutritious snacks. More than the distribution of educational materials, the activity also served as the club's meaningful celebration of National Children's Day, reaffirming Rotary's commitment to nurturing young minds through its Area of Focus: Basic Education and Literacy.
The outreach mission was made possible through the generosity and unwavering support of our valued Partners in Service: Rotary Club of Alabang, Rotary Club of Parañaque Central, Rotary Community Corps (RCC) Brgy. Sta. Cruz, Rotaract Club (RAC) Brgy. Sta. Cruz, Interact Club of Maximo Estrella Senior High School (IAC MESHS), Gardenia, and Universal Robina Corporation (URC). Their partnership exemplifies how collaboration creates a greater and more meaningful impact in the communities we serve.
We also extend our heartfelt appreciation to the dedicated Rotarians, family members, volunteers, and community partners who braved the challenging weather to make this project a success. Our sincere gratitude goes to IPP Tito Meneses; PE Chip Paasa together with his spouse and daughter; Executive Director Betty Centeno; JM and Jen Almazan with their children; Derik Tabunar and spouse; the members of RCC Brgy. Sta. Cruz headed by Ida Rafols together with Ning Sibayan, Gigi Andeza, Mildred Bugarin, Gary Nuguid and spouse Raquel, and Lorita Cadena; the members of RAC Brgy. Sta. Cruz led by Reign Quimoyog with Melissa Rafols, Akilah Alonzo, and Jericho Alberto; and the members of IAC MESHS headed by Nicole Rino.
We likewise express our deepest gratitude to the teachers, elders of LAKAS, and Chief Tubag for their warm welcome, invaluable assistance, and steadfast partnership in making this outreach meaningful for the Aytas community.
The smiles on the faces of the children reminded us that every pack filled, every notebook given, and every snack shared represents hope for a brighter future. These simple gifts are investments in education and affirm our belief that every child deserves the opportunity to learn, dream, and succeed regardless of circumstance.
This project is a testament to what Rotary can accomplish when people of action come together with one purpose—to uplift lives and build stronger communities. Through unity, compassion, and selfless service, we continue to inspire hope where it is needed most.
It only proves that when we unite, no storm is too strong, and no challenge is too great. Together, we continue to create a lasting impact—one child, one community, and one act of kindness at a time.
