This event marked more than a ceremonial beginning, it was the start of renewed hope.
The School Rehabilitation Project Kick-Off Ceremony at Sawang Calero Elementary School stands as a powerful testament to what can be achieved when leaders unite with purpose. With the Rotary Club of Cebu West taking the lead headed by it’s President, Andrew Jimenez, this initiative carries the responsibility of restoring not just structures, but the dignity of learning spaces for our children.
Through the dedicated oversight of RCCPC, led by Community Service Director, Robert Barquilla, we ensure that all three rehabilitation projects; Banawa Elementary School, Sawang Calero Elementary School, and Guba National High School are fully realized. This is accountability in action, driven by our commitment to deliver lasting impact.
Funded by the District Disaster Fund of The Rotary Foundation, this project embodies Rotary’s unwavering mission: to rebuild communities and uplift lives through education.
Under the leadership of DGND & DRFC Chair Jensen Racho and District Governor Angel “Jong” Fernandez, and with the strong collaboration of Rotary Club of Cebu West, Rotary Club of Mandaue, and Rotary Club of Cebu Port Centre, we witnessed today the true meaning of Service Above Self. Leaders and members came together not just as Rotarians, but as stewards of hope and builders of the future.
We were warmly welcomed by the school community led by Principal Dr. Glenn F. Albert and his dedicated teachers, frontliners in shaping young minds despite the challenges they face.
Indeed, we crossed borders to reach further and do more. This project stands as a cornerstone of the DRFC and District 3860’s Re-Building efforts, anchored on a shared vision: Rebuilding Dreams, Creating a Legacy.
The morning concluded with a meaningful fellowship, reminding us that beyond projects and plans, it is relationships that sustain impact. As we gathered, we were reminded that fellowship is the road to friendship, and truly, he profits most who serves best.
We didn’t just launch a project, we strengthened a promise.
