RC Aseana Manila Launches Ecosaver Mutual Fund, Inc. as Flagship Climate Action Initiative

Ecosaver Mutual Fund, Inc., a non-profit organization, serves as the flagship environmental sustainability initiative of the Rotary Club of Aseana Manila, translating climate action into measurable community impact. Under the visionary leadership of UCP Sheryll Ann Mesina, Chairwoman of Ecosaver Mutual Fund, Inc., the project was designed to deliver scalable, data-driven solutions addressing climate resilience, environmental protection, and sustainable livelihoods.

Since its inception, Ecosaver has mobilized multi-sectoral partnerships to advance climate adaptation and mitigation initiatives aligned with national priorities and global sustainability standards. The successful public launch and the project’s continuing momentum are strongly attributed to the leadership, guidance, and unwavering support of Climate Change Commission (CCC) Commissioner Albert Dela Cruz. His stewardship ensured that Ecosaver is fully aligned with national climate policies, resilience frameworks, and long-term sustainability roadmaps—positioning the initiative as a model for public-private-civil society collaboration.

Under the strategic direction of the Climate Change Commission, Ecosaver has been established as a credible, climate-first non-profit platform targeting measurable outcomes, including environmental protection programs, climate-resilient livelihood creation, and community-based mitigation initiatives. The project aims to positively impact thousands of Filipino beneficiaries, with expansion pathways across the Philippines and the ASEAN region, while contributing directly to multiple United Nations Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs)—particularly those related to climate action, decent work, sustainable communities, and partnerships for the goals.

The public launch of Ecosaver was formally initiated by global artist and humanitarian apl.de.ap of the Black Eyed Peas, significantly amplifying public awareness and stakeholder engagement around climate action. Beyond the launch, the project’s operational framework, governance structure, and implementation strategy continue to be driven by Ecosaver Mutual Fund, Inc., under the chairmanship of UCP Sheryll Ann Mesina, in close partnership with the Rotary Club of Aseana Manila. This ensures transparency, accountability, and long-term sustainability of program outcomes.

The Rotary Club of Aseana Manila also extends its deep appreciation to Rotary District 3830 District Governor-Elect Mache Torres, whose leadership and support were instrumental in delivering a high-impact and widely attended launch. Her contribution enabled Ecosaver to reach a broader audience, attract cross-sector partners, and strengthen collaboration among government agencies, private institutions, and civil society organizations.

With the support of the Office of the President, the Office of the Vice President, Senator Christopher “Bong” Go, Senator Loren Legarda, and Metropolitan Manila Development Authority (MMDA) Chairman General Rommel Francisco “Nick” Torre, Ecosaver stands as a tangible demonstration of Rotary’s capacity to drive measurable environmental and social impact.

The initiative underscores how Rotary leadership, combined with strong government partnership, can deliver scalable solutions that protect the environment, strengthen community resilience, and create sustainable livelihoods—producing lasting benefits for both people and the planet.
