In the Philippines, especially in flood-prone areas of Cainta and Antipolo, Rotary Clubs play an active part in flood relief efforts. Offering immediate assistance and support, these clubs mobilize volunteers and resources quickly, ensuring that ready-to-eat food, clean water, toiletries, and medical assistance reach the affected communities. Their commitment not only helps alleviate immediate suffering but also fosters long-term resilience in vulnerable areas.
More often than not, Rotary Clubs work closely with local government units to use their connections and understanding of the situation to ensure that aid is provided effectively. In the Municipality of Cainta and Antipolo City, there were Rotary Clubs that immediately responded to the needs of an estimated 2,000 families. Families who were heavily affected by the flooding spawned by the Tropical Storm Crising and the Habagat winds.
