Project SILAW Progress Update

Pres. Jethro Banez of the Rotary Club of Mandaluyong, together with spouse Jojo, made a follow-up courtesy visit to the Barangay San Isidro LGU and met with Brgy. Captain Eric Ching, Kagawad Jun Mitra, and Indigenous Peoples (IP) representative and coordinator Annalyn.


The meeting reviewed the progress and coordination on Project SILAW, a community development project composed of 3 components which aims to improve access to clean and

reliable water through deep well rehabilitation; provide solar lighting; and, support food sustainability through the distribution of gardening materials for the Dumagat Indigenous

community of Sitio Maislap.



On January 27, 2026, it was reported by the IP Coordinator that the deep well rehabilitation and restoration works were completed, marking a key milestone in the project’s implementation. Next steps: Implementation of the solar lighting and distribution of gardening materials come 2nd week of February.


The visit reaffirmed the commitment of all stakeholders to effective coordination and the long- term sustainability of Project SILAW for the benefit of the Dumagat Indigenous People in Sitio Maislap.
