History came alive for young learners in Sta. Mesa, Manila as the National Historical Commission of the Philippines (NHCP) – Metro Manila Cluster Museums, in partnership with the Department of Education (DepEd) Schools Division Office–Manila and the Rotary Club of San Juan del Monte, rolled out its “Karaban ng Kasaysayan para sa Kabataan” at Bacood Elementary School on October 10, 2025.
The event transformed the school into a creative learning hub where students could see, touch, and experience Philippine history in a fun and interactive way.
Highlights included the Touch the Artist’s Vision (TAV) exhibit—an inclusive display that allowed students to explore art and history through tactile engagement. Learners also joined art and craft workshops inspired by historical themes and watched the film “Lakambini,” a documentary celebrating Gregoria de Jesus, the brave Lakambini of the Katipunan
Storytelling sessions added an imaginative touch with tales like “Ang Batang Babaeng Nagtitinda ng Posporo,” while the “Batang Tapat sa Watawat” campaign encouraged respect for the Philippine flag and a deeper sense of patriotism.
Through hands-on activities, storytelling, and creativity, the NHCP—together with DepEd Manila and the Rotary Club of San Juan del Monte—continues to make history education meaningful, inclusive, and alive for today’s generation.
