First District 3810 Monthly Meeting

August 6, 2025 – Gloria Maris, MAAX MOA Complex, Pasay City


On a vibrant summer day, August 6, 2025, the First District 3810 Rotary Club convened at the

elegant Gloria Maris restaurant within the MAAX MOA Complex in Pasay City for its highly

anticipated monthly meeting. This gathering was not just a routine assembly; it was a powerful

testament to the unity, dedication, and shared mission of Rotary clubs across Manila, Pasay,

Cavite, and Mindoro. Over 100 clubs, represented by their United Chosen Presidents and

District Officers, came together under one roof to reaffirm their commitment to service above

self and to celebrate their collective achievements.



A Gathering of Leaders and Clubs

The meeting was presided over by the esteemed District Governor, Mary Mei Rodrigo, whose

leadership continues to inspire and motivate the district’s vibrant community of Rotarians. Her

opening remarks set a tone of camaraderie and purpose, emphasizing the importance of unity

amid diverse clubs working toward common goals.


Leading the various teams, the gathering was divided into nine strategic groups: Team Saturn,

Team Earth, Team Jupiter, Team Pluto, Team Venus, Team Mars, Team Neptune, Team

Mercury, and Team Uranus. Each team comprised club presidents, district officers, and

members dedicated to specific initiatives, fostering healthy competition alongside

collaboration. The presence of notable Past District Governors—Karen Tamayo, Ernest Yuyek,

Ernie Chua, Lyne Abanilla, Josie Ang, Edmund Aguilar, and Joyce Ambray—added depth of

experience and wisdom to the proceedings.


A Symbol of Unity and Service

This assembly was more than a formal meeting; it was a vibrant display of solidarity among

Rotary clubs in the district. The attendees showcased their unwavering commitment to the core


Rotary principle of “Service Above Self,” with the shared purpose of making a positive impact

on their communities and the world. Such gatherings serve as vital platforms for networking,

sharing best practices, and strengthening the bonds that hold the district’s diverse membership

together.


Messages and Recognitions

The meeting commenced with a heartfelt message from District Governor Mary Mei Rodrigo,

who highlighted the district’s recent accomplishments and underscored the importance of

continuing their mission amidst the evolving global landscape. She challenged all clubs to

sustain their momentum and to innovate in their service projects.


A special highlight was the presentation of the Special Award of Recognition to outstanding

clubs and individuals who demonstrated exemplary service, leadership, and commitment.

These recognitions serve to motivate and acknowledge the tireless efforts of Rotarians who go above and beyond in their service endeavors.


District Secretary’s Update and Program Highlights

Enrique “Eric” Candidato, the District Executive Secretary, delivered an engaging “Time”

segment, providing updates on district operations, upcoming activities, and strategic initiatives.


His presentation underscored the importance of efficient communication and coordination

within the district.


The agenda then moved to the core reports:

- Rotary Foundation Report: DRFC PDG Joyce Ambray and SDG James Tan announced the top three clubs in TRF giving for July, recognizing their generous contributions towards Rotary’s global humanitarian efforts.

- Membership Development: SDG Henry Villa shared inspiring success stories and awarded the top three clubs in membership gain for July, emphasizing the importance of growing and

strengthening the district’s membership base.

- Public Image: SDG Relly Fajardo presented updates on branding, social media campaigns, and community engagement strategies aimed at elevating Rotary’s visibility. The Rotary

International Zone 10A Regional Public Image Awards 2025

- Programs and Projects: SDG William Uy reported on ongoing and upcoming service projects,

highlighting innovative approaches to community service.

- Relief Operations: DSG Hemie Esguerra provided updates on district-led relief efforts,

especially pertinent given recent natural disasters affecting the region.

- Youth Service: SDG Jardine Bautista shared initiatives aimed at engaging youth and fostering future leaders.

- District Trainings and Events: PDG Karen Tamayo and SDG Tess Tie outlined upcoming training sessions and district events designed to equip Rotarians with skills and knowledge.

- Financial Reports: SDG Nico De Leon and DT Cristy Edquiban presented the financial status,

ensuring transparency and accountability within the district’s operations.


Other Matters and Celebrations

The meeting also featured the joyful recognition of July and August birthday celebrants,

fostering a warm community spirit. Attendees shared camaraderie, stories, and aspirations,

reinforcing the sense of family that Rotary embodies.


Closing and Adjournment

District Governor Mary Mei Rodrigo delivered the closing remarks, thanking everyone for their

active participation and reiterating the district’s collective mission. With a renewed sense of

purpose, she formally adjourned the meeting, leaving attendees inspired and energized to

continue their service initiatives.


The First District 3810 Monthly Meeting on August 6, 2025, was a compelling demonstration of Rotary’s enduring spirit of service, unity, and leadership. It exemplified how diverse clubs, united by a common purpose, can achieve remarkable feats and create lasting change.
