Two months after the contract signing, the partnership has now progressed to its second phase with the presentation of the feasibility study at the Ecosaver Office.
This collaboration began when UCP Sheryll Ann Mesina—representing the Rotary Club of Aseana Manila and serving as Chairman of Ecosaver Mutual Fund—signed an agreement with Maria Rosela De Ocampo.
The project will initially cover 6,500 hectares within the larger 16,000-hectare area in Bulalacao, Oriental Mindoro, including adjacent towns. The development plan focuses on:
Bamboo, moringa, coconut, cocoa, and other high-value crops
Biomass-powered sustainable energy systems
Cold storage and ice plant facilities to support the fisheries sector
This initiative aims to strengthen community livelihood by improving agricultural productivity, supporting fisheries, and enhancing value-added processing.
Through Project Haligi, the flagship program of RC Aseana Manila, Rotary will provide training, capacity building, and assistance in developing local enterprises.
Together with our partners, we remain committed to serving the people, protecting the environment, and building a sustainable future for Mindoro’s indigenous and coastal communities.
