SEEDS OF CHANGE: Strengthening Learning Conditions at Carael Integrated School, Botolan

Carael Integrated School, an under-resourced public school in a modest community, has long struggled with deteriorating facilities, insufficient learning materials, and a lack of basic classroom equipment.

During an on-site assessment, club members saw firsthand the difficulties faced by students and teachers: broken toilets, a severe lack of chairs, a computer laboratory without tables, and science equipment left on the floor because of the absence of shelves. These conditions have hindered learning and placed undue strain on the school community.

Items Donated:

To address the most urgent needs, the Rotary Club of Wack Wack turned over:

• 83 student chairs

• 8 complete toilet sets to rehabilitate the school’s comfort rooms

• 5 sturdy tables for the computer laboratory

• 5 storage shelves for science laboratory equipment

• Learning materials to support classroom instruction

• Christmas food packs for the families of schoolchildren

These contributions are expected to significantly uplift the school’s learning environment, promote hygiene and comfort, and provide dignity to students who previously had to endure unsafe and inadequate facilities.

A Legacy of Service

Carael Integrated School, located in a rural community of Zambales, faces challenges in accessing educational resources. By choosing this school, the Rotary Club of Wack Wack (RCWW)  ensured that support reached those who need it most. The project stands as a testament to the club’s enduring commitment to uplifting underserved communities and creating lasting impact.

“Seeds of Change” is more than a one day event — it is part of RCWW’s broader vision to empower youth, strengthen communities, and build a brighter future. As the club continues its journey of service, projects like these remind us that education is the cornerstone of progress, and every child deserves the chance to learn, grow, and dream.
