In a laudable tribute to a legacy of service and leadership, the Rotary Club of New Manila East, in partnership with the Nisce family and the System Technology Institute in Bonifacio Global City, has inaugurated the RUDY Bridge Scholarship Program last July 6, 2024 under Scholarship Chairman Dir. Dave Buenviaje together with Scholarship Committee members, Dir. Jian Anisco and Dir. Jan Cabugawan.
This initiative, named in honor of the late PDG Rodolfo “Rudy” Nisce, who was the 4th district governor of District 380 from 1966-1967, encapsulates a profound commitment to nurturing future leaders. It is noteworthy that District 380 once encompassed the Rotary Club of New Manila East, chartered in 1984, before Quezon City was designated as the “Lone-City District” of 3780 in 1987-1988.
The scholarship aims to provide crucial financial support to 4th-year graduating college students. Furthermore, this program, spanning the academic year 2024-2025, covers both semesters, alleviating financial pressures and allowing students to focus on their studies.
A significant aspect of the scholarship is its focus on empowering young women, reflecting the club’s commitment to bridging gender gaps and fostering community growth. By investing in the education of these women, the Rotary Club of New Manila East continues PDG Nisce’s legacy of service and leadership, helping to pave the way for a brighter, more equitable future.
The Rotary Club of New Manila East has astutely recognized that investing in the education of young women transcends mere academic achievement. It is a transformative force that addresses systemic gender disparities, fortifies communities, and enriches workplaces.
The club’s unwavering faith in the potential of young Filipino women is a tribute to PDG Nisce’s enduring legacy and a forward-thinking strategy for community development.
