It's wonderful to see Rotary clubs from Area 4, District 3820 coming together for Operation Taghoy, an initiative led by Uplift Internationale based in Denver, Colorado USA, to provide medical assistance to Filipino impoverished children.
The dedication of the doctors and nurses coming from all United States, arriving in Legazpi City on February 7th and setting up at Ago General Hospital, is truly inspiring. It's impressive that the effort involves a wide network of Rotary clubs, including those from Metro Kalibo (D3850), Forbes Park (D3830), Pasay (3810), and Rotary clubs of Naga, Legazpi, Legazpi North, Legazpi West, Naga East, Greater Legaspi, Legazpi Central, Metro Legazpi, and Metro Sorsogon, along with Bicol University Student Council and the YMCA Albay.
The signing of the Memorandum of Understanding between the Rotary Club of Metro Kalibo led by Pres. Jess Fernandez, represented by PP Megs Lunn, and the Rotary Club of Legazpi North led by Pres. Merle Oarde, including a renewal of sisterhood with Rotary Club of Legazpi led by Pres. Harold Bembenuto, is another testament to the strength of these partnerships. This mutual commitment to fostering friendship and peace is a valuable aspect of the Rotary mission.
Operation Taghoy's focus on children with cleft lip and palate and other facial deformities is a long-term commitment to helping the most vulnerable. Their six-year presence in the Bicol region and 35 years of service to the country speak volumes about their dedication and impact.
It's inspiring to see so many individuals and organizations coming together to make a real difference in the lives of these children.
