Rotary Club of QC MediaTech Donates Pop-Up Library to Promote Literacy in Quezon City

In a heartwarming initiative to foster literacy and a love for reading, the Rotary Club of QC MediaTech, along with its Rotaract and Interact Clubs, collaborated with the Center for Filipino Youth Volunteers to donate a pop-up library in Barangay Vasra, Quezon City. The event, led by Sophia Mara, the Hope-Creating President of both the Rotary Club and Interact Club of QC MediaTech, gathered the local community for a day dedicated to the joy of books and learning.

During the event, leaders from the Rotary, Rotaract, and Interact clubs highlighted the transformative power of reading. "Books open doors to new worlds and ideas, fostering critical thinking and imagination," shared Sophia Mara. The donation of the pop-up library aims to give children and adults in Barangay Vasra access to a variety of books, encouraging lifelong learning and intellectual growth.

To make the event more engaging, the organizers arranged a series of fun activities, including games and a dancing program, with snacks provided to ensure mothers and children enjoyed the experience.

A standout moment of the event was a special reading session led by Dr. Meric Mara, the Charter President of the Rotary Club of QC MediaTech. He read from his book *Ang Mahusay Online*, which educates children about online safety and protecting themselves from cyberbullying and online predators. This session not only entertained but also raised awareness about the importance of internet safety for the young audience.

The day beautifully blended Rotary service with community joy, showcasing the Rotary Club of QC MediaTech and its partners' dedication to making a positive impact. The new pop-up library stands as a testament to their commitment to promoting a culture of reading and learning in Barangay Vasra.
