The Rotary Club of San Fernando La Union (RCSFLU) continues to live its mission of Service Above Self through a community assessment held at the Pugo Barangay Hall in Bauang, La Union. The initiative aimed to identify priority needs and opportunities for development in the area, serving as a foundation for future Rotary interventions and collaborations with local stakeholders.
The assessment gathered insights from barangay officials, residents, and representatives of community organizations. Discussions centered on sustainable livelihood, disaster preparedness, environmental management, and access to basic services—key areas aligned with Rotary’s seven areas of focus.
The event reaffirmed the club’s commitment to grounded, data-informed service projects that respond to real community needs. The findings will serve as the basis for crafting new initiatives that promote resilience, inclusion, and sustainable local development.
Moreover, the data gathered during the community assessment will serve as a vital foundation for RCSFLU in crafting targeted and meaningful interventions for the residents of Pugo, Bauang. The insights gained will directly guide the implementation of the upcoming 7-in-1 Service Project to be conducted in the area—an integrated initiative that aims to address various community needs through health, education, livelihood, and environmental programs.
