RC San Fernando La Union Leaders Take Seats in Regional Development Council I

The Rotary Club of San Fernando La Union (RCSFLU) proudly marked a historic moment on September 10, 2025, as two of its leaders officially became part of the Regional Development Council I (RDC I) — the highest policy-making body in the Ilocos Region.

During the RDC I Meeting held at the La Union Convention Center, DGE Gov. Roni was elected as Private Sector Representative (PSR) for the Social Sector, a role that positions him to contribute to policy recommendations and development programs that directly impact communities across Region I. In the same session, President Alvin was appointed by Governor Mario Ortega as the PSR representing the Province of La Union, further cementing RCSFLU’s influence in shaping the province’s development agenda.

The RDC serves as the primary institution where government agencies, LGUs, and private sector stakeholders converge to set priorities, align programs, and monitor regional growth. Having RCSFLU leaders seated at this table ensures that Rotary’s values — collaboration, service, and community-centered development — are represented in regional planning efforts.

This milestone also aligns with Rotary International’s focus on Community Economic Development, demonstrating that Rotarians are not only implementers of service projects but also partners in governance. With both Gov. Roni and Pres. Alvin now representing the private sector, RCSFLU is poised to amplify its impact beyond club projects — influencing policy, championing inclusive growth, and helping shape a better future for La Union and the Ilocos Region.
