In line with Rotary’s Area of Focus on Community Economic Development, the Rotary Club of San Fernando La Union (RCSFLU) continues to uplift lives by supporting sustainable livelihood projects for grassroots communities. One of its latest initiatives is the establishment of the RCSFLU-RCC Namtutan Kitchen, a community-based enterprise designed to enhance the economic resilience of local residents in Barangay Namtutan.
The project will be implemented in partnership with the Rotary Community Corps (RCC) of Namtutan and will be funded by the RCSFLU Foundation. It aims to provide a fully functional kitchen facility where community members—particularly women and families—can process, package, and market local products, especially those made from cassava, for which the area is well known.
On April 13, 2025, an ocular visit and coordination meeting was conducted with the officers of RCC Namtutan. The visit allowed both RCSFLU and RCC leaders to discuss project logistics, identify needs, and plan the next steps for the kitchen’s establishment and operations.
This initiative is a testament to RCSFLU’s enduring commitment to Rotary’s vision of enabling economic growth in underserved communities, creating opportunities for productive work, and reducing poverty.
