RC San Fernando La Union and PNP Join Forces for Anti-Bullying and School Supply Drive

The Rotary Club of San Fernando La Union (RCSFLU), in partnership with the San Fernando City Police (PNP), carried out a meaningful outreach on September 3, 2025, at Pao Norte Elementary School, reaching out to 120 students through an anti-bullying awareness campaign and the distribution of school supplies.

With the service project entitled; “Be a Buddy, Not a Bully,” the campaign aimed to instill values of respect, kindness, and camaraderie among children. Police officers and Rotarians emphasized that a safe and nurturing school environment begins with students treating one another with dignity.

The initiative was also held in line with the NAPOLCOM celebration of National Crime Prevention Week, highlighting the importance of early education in promoting safe communities. By engaging students on the dangers of bullying, the campaign echoed Rotary’s Area of Focus on Peacebuilding and Conflict Resolution, which calls for fostering understanding and reducing sources of conflict from the ground up.

Alongside the campaign, students received much-needed school supplies, equipping them with the basic tools to support their learning journey. The simple yet impactful gesture was a reminder that education is not only about books and lessons, but also about building confidence and providing equal opportunities for every child.

Leading the initiative were President Alvin Ray Mari Dumuk, and Rtn. Daryll Johnson, together with PNP partners, who worked hand in hand to ensure the event’s success. Their presence underscored the strength of collaboration between civic organizations and law enforcement in promoting not just safety, but also holistic child development.

The day ended with smiles and gratitude, as children left not only with supplies in hand but also with the empowering message that true strength lies in kindness. Through this initiative, RCSFLU once again demonstrated its guiding principle to Unite for Good, proving that service is most powerful when it touches both hearts and minds.
