On April 28, 2025, nearly 200 students from Lyceum of the Philippines University - Cavite gathered at the Rotary Center for an eye-opening seminar on CyberSafety — a part of RCQC MediaTech’s strengthened CyberTeach program, held in partnership with Lakbay Pinoy Travel and Tour Service.
In a world powered by technology, protecting oneself online has never been more important. This seminar tackled some of today’s biggest digital threats: the rise of AI-Deepfakes, automated vishing attacks, and the hidden dangers of using free public Wi-Fi. The students, energetic and full of curiosity, turned the Q&A session into a vibrant exchange of ideas and real-life concerns.
Dr. Meric Mara, Charter President of RCQC MediaTech and a leading voice in cybersecurity, shared practical knowledge that opened new perspectives. Hope Creating President Sophia Mara served as the host and steered a lively Q&A, connecting naturally with the students' thoughts and questions. Magical President Soraya Rieta gave a heartfelt closing message, reminding everyone that awareness is power. Rtn. Yaya DO-Oma also lent her hand in guiding the students during the session, ensuring an experience that was both engaging and meaningful.
This event proved that with the right tools and the right heart, we can help the next generation navigate the digital world safely — turning challenges into learning moments, and risks into opportunities to grow.
RCQC MediaTech, in partnership with Lakbay Pinoy Travel and Tour Service, continues to light the way where service meets technology, showing that Rotary can be as innovative as it is compassionate.
