On September 16, 2025, the Rotary Club of Navotas proudly and successfully unveiled its Rotary Peace Pole — a lasting symbol of peace, unity, and hope for our community and the world.
The momentous event was graced by GP Cherry Pilos, DG Gina Sanchez, RI Director Jennifer Scott, PDG Edison Ang, and the dedicated Rotarians of RC Navotas, whose collective efforts made this milestone possible.
But what is a Peace Pole, and why is it significant?
A Peace Pole is an internationally recognized symbol of peace. It bears the message “May Peace Prevail on Earth” written in multiple languages, reminding everyone of our shared humanity beyond borders, culture, and beliefs. First introduced in Japan after World War II as a global call for peace, Peace Poles can now be found in more than 200 countries around the world — in schools, parks, government centers, and communities — serving as a quiet yet powerful reminder that peace begins with us.
For Rotary, the installation of the Peace Pole is not just a ceremonial act but a commitment to one of Rotary’s core areas of focus: the promotion of peace and conflict prevention/resolution. It is a pledge that Rotarians will continue to build bridges of friendship, understanding, and unity within communities and across nations.
Through this project, the Rotary Club of Navotas reaffirms its dedication to service above self. The Peace Pole now stands as a beacon of hope — urging all who pass by to choose kindness over conflict, compassion over division, and understanding over indifference.
Together, we stand firm in Rotary’s mission to promote peace, nurture harmony, and create positive and lasting change in our community and beyond. Truly, the Rotary Peace Pole is not just a marker in our city — it is a living promise of hope for generations to come.
