RC Metro Kalibo hosts live talk show on conservation

Last Nov. 23, 2023, President Ricky Molo and PP Megs Lunn hosted a live talk show via the Rotary Club of Metro Kalibo Facebook page. It was about “Conversation on Conservation” with the environmental partner Aklan Trekkers Inc., held at the ATI Advocacy Hub in Kalibo, Aklan.

One of the 7 Areas of Focus of Rotary International is the support for the Environment. During the discussion, the main topic was the progress and future plans for the “Suba it Pag Eaum” (River of Hope) project in 3-Phase. The rationale behind the project was also discussed, as well as the updates on its implementation.

Additionally, the concern was raised about the controversial Petrowind turbines mega project in the western side of Aklan, and the negative effects it has on the local rivers and the community’s livelihood.

After the show, Soap Cycling Philippines turned over 102 packs of soap for the WASH project.
