On the evening of June 29, 2025, the Rotary Club of Cebu Gloria Maris proudly joined the Rotary Club of Cebu South (RCCS) at their 54th Induction and Handover Ceremonies held at the elegant Casino Español de Cebu. This grand occasion marked the beginning of a promising Rotary year under the leadership of the newly inducted President, Atty. Rheneir Mora.

Representing the Rotary Club of Cebu Gloria Maris with distinction were Assistant Governor Christine Tan Ashby, President-Elect Roxene Rosario, and President Nominee Dorothy Borces. Their presence underscored the strong bonds of fellowship and mutual support that unite Rotary clubs across Cebu and beyond.

The evening’s program was a seamless blend of tradition, celebration, and forward-looking optimism. The event commenced with a formal call to order by President Mora, followed by an invocation from Past President Richard Cabaluna, setting a reverent tone for the night. Secretary Levin Dela Calzada reaffirmed the club’s commitment to integrity and service with a recitation of the Rotary Four-Way Test. Warm welcome remarks by Vice President Geopette Mayhew and a heartfelt acknowledgment of Rotary District Officers, members, and guests by Past President and Membership Chair Johnjack Torrejos highlighted the spirit of camaraderie that defines RCCS.

Treasurer Ronnie Aguilar honored past presidents with tokens and certificates, while Past Assistant Governor and Public Image Chair Manuel Gordon reflected on the club’s achievements and aspirations.

The induction of new members brought fresh energy to the evening. Introduced by Past President Torrejos and formally charged by Assistant Governor Ashby, the new members were warmly welcomed into the Rotary family with a symbolic pinning ceremony by Past Presidents Aaron Francisco Recla and Edward Bauzon.

The highlight of the evening was the induction of Atty. Rheneir Mora as the 2025-2026 RCCS President. Introduced by his daughter, Lhyziaz Renee Mora, the moment was both personal and inspiring, symbolizing a seamless transfer of leadership and renewed commitment to service.

District Governor Angel “Jong” Fernandez Jr. administered the oath, followed by the ceremonial turnover of the presidential medallion and the bell and gavel, symbolizing the seamless transfer of leadership.

The induction of the new Board of Directors and Officers followed, with Past President Torrejos introducing the team. They were charged by Assistant Governor Ashby and inducted by District Governor Fernandez. President Mora’s acceptance speech resonated with enthusiasm and a clear vision for the year ahead. The program also featured congratulatory messages from Rotary Club Teresa President Frederic Inguito and a stirring address by District Governor Fernandez. Tokens of appreciation were presented to DG Fernandez and AG Ashby by President Mora, and a ceremonial toast led by Past President Elias Epinosa concluded the festivities on a high note.

The Rotary Club of Cebu Gloria Maris’s participation in this significant event highlighted the deep fellowship and shared commitment among Rotary clubs in the region, united by the common goal of “Service Above Self.” As RCCS embarks on a new chapter under President Mora’s leadership, Cebu Gloria Maris stands in solidarity, ready to collaborate and support initiatives that uplift communities and embody Rotary’s enduring spirit.
