RC Cainta Launches “Aruga Para sa Pilipino tungo sa Ligtas at Malusog na Pamumuhay” on Women's Day

Cainta, Philippines – Celebrating International Women's Day with unwavering commitment to maternal and child health, the Rotary Club of Cainta hosted the “Aruga Para sa Pilipino Tungo sa Ligtas at Malusog na Pamumuhay” (Care for Filipinos Toward Safe and Healthy Living) project at the Cainta Convention Center. This full-day event, running from 8 a.m. to 6 p.m., served 210 patients, blending compassion with cutting-edge medical services under Rotary's Area of Focus: Saving Mothers and Children.



Guided by Club President Glenn Rentoria and President-Elect Dennis San Antonio, the initiative was driven by “Aruga” Project Chair Past President (PP) Ophelia Bello, Co-Chair PP Rowena Bello, and Project Coordinator PP Jennie Cruz. Fifteen dedicated Rotarian club members joined forces with key partners and sponsors: KnKPInc, NPK Medical Trading, One Cainta Municipal Health Office, Cainta Rotaract, Cainta Council for Women, SM Super Malls, Unilab, Taisho, and Prosel Pharma.



KnKPInc spearheaded the medical and educational efforts with comprehensive services:

● 210 patients served overall

● Lecture on Women's Health to empower attendees with vital knowledge

● 101 ultrasounds and prenatal consultations

● 210 breast exams

● 109 gynecological ultrasounds and consultations

● 92 Visual Inspections with Acetic Acid (VIA) for cervical cancer screening

● 2 thermal coagulations

● 3 cervical polypectomies

● 24 breast ultrasounds


One Cainta Municipal Health Office

● 98 HIV testing

Philippine Dental Association ( Rizal Chapter)

● 18 - Oral Prophylaxis

● 18- Fluoride Application

● 26- consultation and oral exam


Complementing these were HIV testing from the Cainta Women's Office and dental cleanings by the PDA Cainta Chapter, ensuring holistic care that promotes “ligtas at malusog na pamumuhay” for Filipino families.


President Rentoria emphasized, “This project honors our mothers and children, providing aruga that saves lives and builds resilient communities.” PP Ophelia Bello noted, “Our partners' expertise turned Women's Day into a day of empowerment and healing.”

The event galvanized community spirit, engaging youth from Cainta Rotaract and reinforcing Cainta's health infrastructure. Rotary Club of Cainta continues to lead with service, proving that collective aruga changes lives.
