On August 15, 2025, members of the Rotary Club of Aseana Manila, led by UCP Sheryll Ann Mesina, visited the historic 417-year-old Municipal Hall of Argao, Cebu, a landmark that stands as a symbol of the town’s resilience and heritage.
More than a cultural visit, the occasion became an opportunity for a meaningful dialogue with Argao’s Environmental Team on local climate adaptation initiatives. The discussions highlighted ongoing programs such as mangrove and marine sanctuary protection, solid waste management, eco-friendly practices, and community-based sustainability projects.
The passion and commitment of Argao’s environmental leaders offered valuable insights and served as a strong reminder that effective climate action does not always begin in large conference halls—it often starts in small towns with dedicated communities and big hearts.
This engagement underscored the powerful connection between heritage and sustainability, showing that preserving cultural legacy and protecting the environment can go hand in hand.
As Rotarians, the experience reinforced the call to move beyond awareness into concrete action—protecting not just the planet, but the future of generations to come.
