Project TangSinag: Nourishing Dreams, Guiding Futures

On September 20, 2026, 100 children from Baras, Rizal, gathered for a day filled with nourishment, learning, fellowship, and hope. Ranging in age from 3 to 15, the children experienced more than a simple community outreach activity. They were reminded that their lives matter, their education is important, and their dreams deserve to be nurtured and supported.

Project TangSinag was made possible through the collaborative efforts of the Rotary Club of Marikina West, the Rotaract Club of Marikina West, and Tau Gamma Phi, all united by a shared commitment to serve the community and empower the next generation.

Representing the Rotary Club of Marikina West were HIP Katrina Frances C. Evasco, Past President Radian Fantone and his spouse, Nora Fantone. The Rotaractors were represented by their President, Jasmine De Guzman, while Tau Gamma Phi also joined the initiative and contributed to the success of the meaningful community service activity.

As part of the project, the Rotaractors and Tau Gamma Phi led a feeding program that provided nutritious meals to the children. Beyond addressing hunger, the activity created an atmosphere of warmth, compassion, and fellowship. It emphasized the importance of ensuring that children are well-nourished and better prepared to learn, grow, and pursue their dreams.

The Rotary Club of Marikina West also provided study tables for the beneficiaries. These tables represent more than furniture. They serve as spaces where children can read, write, complete their schoolwork, and imagine a brighter future. Each table stands as a symbol of encouragement and a reminder that their education matters and that their dreams are worth investing in.

The spirit of TangSinag was reflected throughout the activity—in every meal shared, every table provided, and every smile received. Evoking the ideas of a guiding light and a ray of hope, the project sought to brighten the children’s present while helping lead them toward a more promising future.

Project TangSinag also demonstrated the strength of collaboration. When organizations come together with a common purpose, simple acts of service can create a meaningful and lasting impact. Through the shared efforts of the Rotary Club of Marikina West, the Rotaractors, and Tau Gamma Phi, a feeding program and the distribution of study tables became a powerful expression of community solidarity.

As the children received their meals and study tables, they also received something equally important: the assurance that they are seen, valued, and supported. Their smiles served as a reminder that service is measured not only by what is given, but also by the hope and inspiration it creates.

Project TangSinag embodies Rotary’s enduring spirit of Service Above Self. It shows that even one meal, one study table, and one act of kindness can become a source of strength, dignity, and opportunity for a child.

Through this initiative, dreams were nourished, possibilities were illuminated, and futures were guided. In Baras, Rizal, Project TangSinag became more than a community project—it became a quiet yet powerful reminder that when compassionate hearts work together, they can help children see a brighter future.
