Rotary Club of Laoag Sunshine Demonstrates All Seven Areas of Focus Through a Day of Care and Celebration
On February 15, 2026, the Rotary Club of Laoag Sunshine brought warmth, compassion, and hope to 18 survivors of sexual abuse through Project Sunshine, a whole-day outreach program held at the Clubhouse of Balai Condominiums in San Nicolas, Ilocos Norte. Designed to support healing and empowerment, the initiative reflected Rotary’s commitment to all seven Areas of Focus by providing free medical consultations, legal assistance, skills training opportunities, educational materials, hygiene kits, and environmental awareness activities.
Beyond the services rendered, the club created a joyful and memorable experience that celebrated the dignity and worth of every participant. Each beneficiary was honored with a personal birthday cake, gifts, and well wishes during a special birthday-themed celebration. The festivities continued with a shared lunch and a pool party filled with grilled burgers, barbecues, games, and laughter, fostering a sense of belonging and happiness among the participants.
More than an outreach activity, Project Sunshine served as a powerful reminder that every individual deserves care, respect, and the opportunity to thrive. Through this meaningful initiative, the Rotary Club of Laoag Sunshine helped bring light into the lives of survivors, reaffirming that they are loved, valued, and capable of building a brighter future.
