Plant Today, Thrive Tomorrow!

On February 7, 2026, the Rotary Club of Metro Kalibo (D3860), led by President Nora Helber-Maming, the Rotary Club of Greenhills (D3800), headed by President Sharon Sangalang, and RCC Karakol Brgy. Batis (QC), under President Glenda Luterio, united efforts with the Rotaract Club of Metro Kalibo and the Interact Club of Numancia Integrated School. Together, they planted 125 mangrove propagules and conducted a clean-up drive at Bakhawan Nature Study and Eco-park in Kalibo, Aklan.

Safeguarding the environment is a key focus area for Rotary. These young seedlings will transform into formidable barriers against storm surges and serve as essential carbon sinks. By planting these trees, we are actively working to protect our future coastlines.

The day also marked by the signing of a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) between two Rotary Clubs to enhance Rotary supports to environmental and sustainable initiatives.

Afterward, the group enjoyed a delightful buddle-lunch together. There’s truly no fellowship quite like that which is shared after a morning dedicated to making a positive impact on the environment.

Collaborate. Serve. Make an Impact!
