The story of the Rotary Club of Malabon Prestige is, at its core, a story of hope—hope that tradition can evolve, and that a new generation can rise without losing the values that built the foundation before them. It was born from a shared belief that service must not remain confined within old ways, but must grow, adapt, and speak to the present. In this sense, Prestige is not merely about honor, but about purpose carried forward with courage.
This vision began to take shape during the induction of the Rotary Club of Malabon East’s Good President, Mr. Chun Hang “Joey” Choi. In that defining moment of leadership and renewal, a quiet yet powerful idea emerged: to build a club that would bridge the gap between the steadfast traditions of Rotary and the fresh, bold perspectives of a new generation. Entrusted with this vision were Ms. Louella Danielle Gahol, Mr. Aldrin Ross Carpio, and Ms. Francena Gabrielle Yambao Peralta—individuals who saw not just the challenge, but the possibility.
On October 22, 2025, the journey found its first heartbeat. The initial unofficial meeting, held alongside the Rotary Club of Malabon East and guided by Club New Generation Chairperson PP Wilson Tan and PP Jed Concepcion—with the steadfast support of Good President Joey Choi—was not grand in scale, but it was rich in intention. It was a gathering of minds willing to listen, to dream, and to build something meaningful together. In that space, the seeds of Prestige were quietly planted.
The beginning was not without its challenges. Many of those invited were hesitant, and while some initially expressed interest, they were ultimately unable to join. Yet what followed was a season of connection and growth. More prospective members came—not just to attend meetings, but to belong, to become part of something that felt both rooted and refreshing. Through fellowships and shared moments with the sponsoring club— relationships deepened, trust was built, and a collective identity began to emerge. It became clear that this was no longer just an idea—it was becoming a community.
That sense of identity was further strengthened on January 20, 2026, when District Governor Gina Sanchez met with the provisional members. During this gathering, she introduced the name “Malabon Prestige,” a name that resonated deeply with the group and was later unanimously approved.
The name Prestige was chosen to reflect the kind of identity and standard the club aspires to uphold. It is not meant to signify status or exclusivity, but rather a commitment to excellence, integrity, and meaningful service.
At the same time, the name embodies the spirit of a new generation of Rotarians—individuals who are driven, dynamic, and ready to redefine service in ways that are relevant to the present. It is a reminder that even as a young club, we can carry ourselves with purpose, professionalism, and pride.
For our members, the opportunity to serve the community under the Rotary banner is a prestigious calling that defines their commitment to "Service Above Self".
Therefore, On January 27, 2026, clarity met commitment. District 3800 Membership Chairperson PP Jeng Liban welcomed the group and introduced them to the essence of Rotary through Rotary 101. It was a turning point—one that affirmed their direction and strengthened their resolve.
On March 19, 2026, the provisional rotary club was profoundly honored by an official visit from Past District Governor Edi Chua Co Kiong, accompanied by a distinguished delegation of district officers, including SAG Angela Sioco, AG Thess Francisco, and District Membership Vice Chair Arjay Gonzalez.
The visit provided the club with invaluable insights into the strategic mission and core values of Rotary International. The delegation shared their expertise on enhancing club vibrancy and the importance of sustainable membership growth, reinforcing the collective commitment of all members to 'Service Above Self.' The club expresses its deep gratitude for the guidance and inspiring fellowship shared by the district leadership during this productive engagement.
Not long after, on March 20, 2026, through the official newsletter of District Governor Gina Sanchez, the long-awaited recognition arrived. The Rotary Club of Malabon Prestige had become a full-fledged member of Rotary International. What once lived as a vision had now taken its rightful place in reality.
Today, the Rotary Club of Malabon Prestige stands as a living testament to what can happen when courage meets purpose. It is a bridge between past and future, between experience and innovation, between tradition and transformation. Carried by the passion of its charter members, the club continues to move forward—guided by service and united by heart.
